In The Bible: What Is The Importance Of The Sky?

This is a new series 18 of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.

Verse No. 8 in the Old Testament says that God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening and there was morningthe second day.

Verse No. 8 in the New Testament says that Asa the father of Jehoshaphat Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram Jehoram the father of Uzziah

Verse No. 8 in the Noble Quran says: Alif l?m m?m Just three Arabic letters; this kind of beginning of any chapter is not found in

The verse No. 8 in the Old Testament is Genesis 1:8

The verse continues talking about the creation of the heavens and the earth it says: God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening and there was morningthe second day.

It should be emphasized that the three verses of Genesis 1:68 talk about the significance of the Sky in the process of the creation of the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:6 says:

Then God said “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate the waters from the waters.

Genesis 1:7 says:

And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.

Then in Genesis 1:8 God called the expanse “sky.”

These three verses give the significance of the sky and its importance.

The Biblical concept is that there was water God made an expanse sky in the midst of the waters to separate the waters that were under the expanse sky from the waters that were above the expanse sky.

If we investigate this Biblical concept of waters that are under the sky from the waters that are above the sky with reference to the Scientific facts about the cycling and recycling of waters; the result will not be in favor with this Biblical concept.

The verse No. 8 in the New Testament is Matthew 1:8

The verse continues talking about the Genealogy of Jesus Christ and Matthew lists Jesus’ ancestors the verse says: Asa the father of Jehoshaphat Josaphat Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram Joram Jehoram the father of Uzziah Ozias.

Here again we have the problem of writing the names in the different four versions of the Bible studied.

Fundamentally the names of the people have no translation they have to be written as they are pronounced.

How come that a person’s name in one version of the Bible is Jehoshaphat; and in another version of the Bible he is Josaphat?

How come that a person’s name in one version of the Bible is Jehoram and in another version of the Bible he is Joram?

How come that a person’s name in one version of the Bible is Uzziah and in another version of the Bible he is Ozias?

Verse No. 8 in the Noble Quran is Chapter 2:1 Surah Surah ALBAQARA THE COW 2:1

The verse says:

Alif l?m m?m

The verse is composed by three Arabic letters Alif l?m m?m

I wonder how they are written in the translation of the Quran as: Aliflaammeem alif lam mim or a.l.m.

However they should be written as they are pronounced.

They are pronounced as: Alif l?m m?m

There are many Surah in the Noble Quran which their first verses composed with just letters like Surah No.2

This kind of beginning is really amazing.

It marveled both the Arabic believers and the disbelievers.

Also this kind of beginning is not present in any religious book.

It is not found neither in the Old Testament nor in the New Testament.

Some scholars propose some speculations about the meaning of these three disjointed letters they have many opinions that may be summarized as follow:

‘Alif stands for Allah Lam for the Archangel Gabriel Jibril and Mim for Muhammad. It is also said Alif stands for Allah’s blessings ala’uh Lam for His kindness lutfuh and Mim for His dominion mulkuh.

It is also said that Alif stands for the beginning of the Name Allah Lam for the beginning of His Name the Kind alLatif and Mim for the beginning of His Name the Glorious alMajid.

It is also said that only Allah knows the meaning of these disjointed letters; while some maintain that it is an oath that He made.

But who knows? Only Allah.

Indianapolis Schools Teachers Receive Awards Recognizing Positive Performance

Indianapolis Schools Center for Inquiry Teacher Gets Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders

An Indianapolis Schools Center for Inquiry teacher Maysee Herr was among twelve young leaders from throughout Indiana to be awarded the Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders. The honor of the Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders is not the only thing the recipient receives; they also get 1000 to be used as an educational scholarship or as a donation to the charity of their choice. This year’s recipients have chosen to donate their monetary awards to community organizations and to public scholarship funds. A special luncheon was held on June 8th at which Lt. Governor Becky Skillman presented recipients with their awards.

The Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders was introduced in 2003 in a joint effort by the Indiana Humanities Council and the Office of the Governor. These awards are designed to recognize outstanding young Indiana leaders between the ages of 19 and 29 for their achievements in entrepreneurial community education and cultural arenas and for their commitment to Indiana. This is not the first Indianapolis Schools teacher to receive this prestigious award. The Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders serves to decrease Indiana’s “brain drain”; identify emerging community leaders for further mentoring and engagement; raise the bar of expectation for all Indiana citizenscounteracting the notion that “good enough is good enough” by recognizing excellence and the personal achievement. The recipients are selected by an independent jury consisting of leaders in business education and culture.

How We Learn: A Primer On Learning Styles

We should never cease to learn! Even if we have long said goodbye to classroom walls and boring lectures our minds never fail to learn and discover new things as we go through our daily lives. A conversation a ride on a bus a magazine article can give us new insights and knowledge.

Ever wonder why different people have different ways of learning and grasping information? Say two people listen to a certain song. One may remember the lyrics more easily while the other may remember the tune better. Or some people may remember a posters text well while others may vividly remember the images.

Well it may be surprised to know that modes of learning is never just a single way street. There are different styles of learning and most people usually fall under one of them although some people possess two learning styles or even more!!

A person who is Visual/Verbal Learner usually learns best when details and information are presented visually in a written format. In a classroom he learns better when the teacher uses the blackboard or provides notes and outlines. Or he tends to remember things that are written and are presented visually. He is good at spelling signs and languages. The Visual/Nonverbal Learner learns best when the information is shown visually through images pictures and designs. Videos charts maps pictures diagrams and posters are his best allies. Most visual/nonverbal learners are artistic and enjoy visual design and art. The Tactile/Kinesthetic Learner learns best with physical or hands on activities. He is good at sports loves moving around and loves physical activities and hobbies. Laboratory settings and lessons that involve demonstrations are the best learning environment for this kind of learner. The Auditory/Verbal Learner is at his peak in learning when information to be learned in presented in an auditory and oral format. Lectures group discussions audio tapes are very beneficial for this type of learner. A person who is an auditory and verbal learner remembers information best when it has been spoken to him. He remembers names better than faces.

Learning styles can be determined through a learning styles survey. While not really necessary knowing how you learn or how your kids or grandkids learn best enables you to put this style into full use by using strategies that are particular to each learning style. This helps learning become easier and better!
